What Members Are Saying...😍
FAQ
Our mixers are open to publishers, authors, aspiring authors, and anyone involved in the publishing industry. We have supportive members who know what it's like to get started and will cheer you on to keep going, as well as those further ahead and looking for ways to collaborate and scale their businesses.
Yes. 1. Respect everyone. This is a positive environment to help each other grow, not bring each other down or get into heated political debates. 2. Don't be a Chatty Cathy and hog the mic. These meetups are about making friends and having dialogues, not giving monologues. 3. Don't solicit members to buy your products or services. Share your wins and milestones, even your links, but this is not the time or place for self-promotion.
Yep! Some of our regulars have been in publishing, business, or marketing for decades. We also have industry experts 'takeover' 30 minutes of our mixers about once a month to help us with all aspects of the publishing process (writing, editing, design, production, distribution, marketing, promotion, mindset, etc.). Most importantly, we have each other! Between all of us, we're a wealth of knowledge and support.
It varies, between 15-40.
Nope! Though many of our regulars come out to every event, we have lots of semi-regulars who are warmly welcomed back whenever they pop by.

I have been with the group since the early stages. Since the beginning it has been a great place to share ideas with other authors who are going through the same issues you are and hopefully learn from others mistake or triumphs. We now have an international reach with participants joining us from other continents. I look forward to our Monday nights together. Jess has done a great job of keeping it going. Thanks Jess.

Being an author is often hard and lonely work. This is even more so for new authors! Having a network of other like-minded people who “get” what you’re going through is an invaluable asset. Self Pub Hub is a wonderful community of authors from all different genres who get together weekly to connect and support one another. Jess Kotzer has created an inclusive space and provides conversation prompts for breakout rooms for more in-depth conversation. Additionally, she invites incredible speakers who share valuable tips and often offer discounted services for group members. This group is so important to me that I schedule my week around it!

I have found joining Self Pub Hub to be a great way to meet other creative folks and I’ve made a few friends along the way. Jess is great at getting people together and I look forward to Monday nights!! I love the ease of being able to drop in when my schedule permits without feeling guilty when I cannot.

I originally came in an attempt to be more social meet new people and find a support system for being a first time author. However it became more then that and now it feels like catching up with old friends and family. I have a support system, I learn new things all the time and I have a great laugh with like minded people from all over the world.

Absolutely love the laid back pub night. I’ve enjoyed meeting other authors and making new friends. Talking about writing and struggles we go through is so validating for me.

I love connecting with other authors and writers, to see how they manage their struggles or what they did to succeed. I love to share my own humble tools about writing that I gathered around. The group is very welcoming and everyone is so diverse and kind. It's nice to have breakout rooms moments so everyone can have their moment to share their words even when we are a bigger group. I love to be there as much as possible.

Mondays with Jess and her gang of writers have been a great place to connect with other authors on Monday nights. There are so many talented writers in this group and there is always something that someone says that gives me food for thought. If you are a writer, come and check it out for yourself.
